The K-8 general special education program (SM1) at Salmon Bay upholds the standard of least restrictive environment for all students who qualify for special education services. What that means is that we individualize service needs for all students who qualify for special education. This could include full inclusion support in the general education environment, small mixed groupings with specially designed instruction, resource room intervention support, or any combination of the above. In addition, the middle school also has two SM4 Inclusion programs for more intensive support with a lower student to teacher ratio.
