Lenore Skenazy: Childhood Independence
Summary : Come join us Wednesday, March 26 from 6-8 PM for a \"Fireside Chat\" in the Salmon Bay Library with childhood independence guru Lenore Skenazy!

Parents, teachers, and caregivers…
The bad news is that recent research shows that American children are less happy and more anxious than ever before. This matters because how happy you are as a kid is the biggest predictor of how happy—and successful—you’ll be as an adult.
The good news is that we can change this. For free. And fast. And Lenore Skenazy will tell you how!
Let Grow! For 15 years, Lenore Skenazy has led the movement for childhood independence. She has seen firsthand the transformative power of independence for kids and families. As President and CEO of Let Grow, the world’s leading organization for childhood independence, she advocates for kids’ freedom through evidence-based policy, community-building, and curriculum. She’s got ideas aplenty, she’s not here to judge, and she’s really, really funny.
Join us March 26, 6-8pm in the Salmon Bay library for an interactive “fireside chat” with Lenore Skenazy about the state of childhood and how you can change your kids’ lives for the better. Please notethat we will be meeting in the library, but Lenore Skenazy will be joining us live via Zoom.
RSVP for the event and sign-up for free childcare + pizza for potty-independent children of attending adults. Walk-ins welcome, space permitting.
Hosted by the FOSB Parent Information Exchange Committee (PIE) and Liz Hunter, Salmon Bay parent, Let Grow Play Club mentor, and childhood independence advocate and writer.
To get to the library, enter the school through the north set of doors on 18th Ave NW. Go up the stairs to the second floor and take a left. The library entrance will be on your right.
