    School Choice and Open Enrollment

Seattle Public Schools students are initially assigned to a designated attendance area elementary, middle, or high school based on each student's home address. To view the attendance area schools for your address, use the address lookup tool on our About Our Schools webpage.

Students may apply for assignment to a different school (or program) through School Choice. It is not guaranteed that students will be assigned to the school (or program) of their choice; students are only guaranteed assignment to their attendance area school. Additional information about option schools, including individual GeoZone maps, is available on the School Directory webpage.

    Open Enrollment

The on-time period for Open Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year will be from February 3 - 14, 2020. School Choice forms will be available online, and at the John Stanford Center.

Open Enrollment is the annual period where students may first apply to attend a different school or program next year.

The school choice period continues until May 31, 2019, but on-time applications are those received during Open Enrollment (Feb. 4 - 20, 2019) and will be processed with applicable tiebreakers. Late choice applications will be accepted through May 31, 2019, but are not eligible for priority tiebreakers.

Open Enrollment results for the 2019-20 school year were available online on April 16, 2019.
