When:

  • 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month, beginning October 1, rain or shine! (We have a big tent.)
  • The Mini Library will be open from 3:30pm until 6:00pm. Custodians will be locking the gate at 6:00pm sharp.
  • In order to promote physical distancing, it would be helpful if you could come at the following times, based on students’ last name:
    • A-E, 3:30-4
    • F-J, 4-4:30
    • K-O, 4:30-5
    • P-S, 5-5:30

Where: In the alley between the school building and the playground

How: Masks and clean hands required. We will have masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves you can use!

What: Check out books from our online catalog. Just place a hold on the books you want, and Teacher Ben will get them for you.

When: Place a hold any time! 24/7!

Instructions for placing holds online

Orders may take a few days to get ready, especially if you order something that needs to be quarantined. Teacher Ben will email the student’s account when books are ready for pick up.

The best time to pick up orders is at the Mini Library after you receive an email that your order is ready.

If you can’t get to the Mini Library or you need the books urgently, once the order is ready you can get them from Britta or Caitlin during school hours.

The Free Book Exchange will be open every school day from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Under the Mini Library tent, we will keep books that you can take from freely! When you are done with books you’ve taken, it would be nice if you bring them back sometime. Please return these books to the same bin as the library books, so they can be quarantined.

If you would like to donate books, great! Please just put them in the book return, or contact Teacher Ben to arrange a time to meet up.

The Fine Print

  • Checkout limit for all students will be 5 books. This limit may increase or decrease depending how it goes for the first couple months.
  • Given the circumstances, due dates will be very flexible. If families would return books within 3 to 4 weeks, that would help make them available more frequently for others to check out
  • Books become automatically marked ?lost? after 60 days.
  • All books (library books and Free Book Exchange books) will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before recirculating
